About SOS Foundation for Development

SOS Development is a fresh start of SOS Center for Youth Capabilities Development and it's a non-profit, community-based foundation established by a group youth active in civil society, who have extensive experience in implementing development projects. The Foundation seeks to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals in partnership with the Triangular development (government, private sector, civil society). As well as human rights agenda, promoting protection; and emergency protection for IDPs, hosting communities; and less fortunate groups, with taking consideration of gender-sensitive, focusing on the developing and empowering of individuals and communities politically, economically, socially and culturally, while raising community awareness and providing support for decision makers on different issues in order to prepare a generation that can participate effectively in decision-making.

About the WPS3 program

SOS Foundation for Development (SOSFD) has been implementing a five-year Women, Peace, and Security3 (WPS3) program with the Consortium comprising CARE Netherlands, CARE Yemen, which phased out in third year, and RNW Media represented by their local partner Manasati30. The WPS3 program, which started in 2021 and ended in 2025, is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It focuses on promoting women's leadership in peacebuilding in conflict-affected areas with a strategic objective of improving women’s meaningful influence in relief, recovery and peace processes in Yemen.

To achieve the strategic objective, three key sub-objectives was identified to contribute to the program's success:

1.    More equitable social norms and related practices (S1)
2.    Enhanced protection for women (S2)
3.    More inclusive relief, recovery, and peace processes (S3)

The program targeted groups are as follows: 

1.    Civil society organizations (CSOs) working with women.
2.    Youth and women's initiatives.
3.    Local authorities.
4.    Women in Aden Governorate.

The program targeted four domains of change as follows:

  • D1: Civil Society is capable, representative, and engaged in collective action for influence

  • D2: Male family members and community members are more aware and supportive of women’s positive contributions and leadership

  • D3: Formal and informal power-holders are more supportive and responsive to women

  • D4: Women are empowered to influence relief, recovery and peacebuilding processes

Job purpose:

To provide an accurate audit service “based on the protocol of the donor” for Women Peace and Security (WPS3) project for the five years starting 1st January 2021 and ending 31 December 2025.

Tasks: 

  • Auditing and reviewing the financial information of the Women, Peace and Security Project and providing feedback based on it according to the following procedures:

    • Audit of financial statements prepared in accordance with a special purpose framework pursuant to International Standard on Auditing (ISA) 805 

    • Engagement to perform agreed-upon procedures pursuant to International Standard on Related Services (ISRS) 4400

  • Verify that the financial statements are free of any errors.

  • Presenting a report (in both Arabic and English), results and recommendations based on the outputs of the external audits.

Duration: One month

Deliverable:

The Auditor/ Auditing company is required to deliver the following:

  • Audit report meeting ISA 805 and ISRS 4400 standards in both Arabic and English.

Qualifications:

The Auditor/ Auditing company must have the following:

  • An experience not less than 5 years in the same field.

  • The auditor/ auditing company must be located in Aden.

  • The permits of the auditor/ auditing company must be limited to the liberated areas in Yemen including renewed commercial registration, professional license and tax card.

  • Aware of the local context.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles.

  • Good decision-making abilities.

  • Problem-solving skills.

  • Professional and trustworthy.

Location for the performance of services:

The audits must be carried out in Aden as SOS Foundation is based there.
